# Agentic Commerce Market

It's possible that agentic commerce as a market is not sustainable and/or has a limited TAM.

A currently small, but high potential business line is [Laso Finance's agentic commerce offering](https://laso.finance/agent).

AI Agents like [OpenClaw](https://openclaw.ai/) or [Hermes](https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/) can get their own Laso card with a single prompt. They can get their own card, make their own purchases, and even their own bank transfers.

The same low-friction human Laso users enjoy make it possible for AI agents to get financial tooling on Laso without a human in the loop.

It's exciting. We believe that Laso Finance can be the winner for **agentic entrepenurship**, a subset of agentic commerce.

However, it's very possible that agentic commerce as a category is either:

1. A phantom market.
2. Serviced in a way where Laso Finance does not have a competitive advantage.

## Consumer Consumption

Currently, most agentic commerce is focused on enhancing the execution of consumer consumption. Your agent buying your groceries for you or helping plan a logistically complicated vacation.

They are getting better at that, but in the majority of those cases, an agent executing those tasks is not any faster, easier, or cheaper than a human can.

If (or almost certainly, when) agents to get to a better consumption UX, it will of course be significant. It will increase GDP.

However, it's an incremental improvement. Essentially improving a checkout flow. More purchases will be made, but mostly the same purchases.

It may not be a significant enough market to sustain a single large winner. More likely, it will be subsumed as a feature on frontier labs' offerings.

## Existing Offerings

Many large companies with elite competence have joined the fray of agentic commerce. There are already offerings such as:

* [ChatGPT Shopping](https://chatgpt.com/shopping/)
* [Amazon Rufus](https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8\&node=216450446011)
* [Stripe Agents](https://docs.stripe.com/agents)
* [Visa Intelligent Commerce](https://www.visa.com/en-us/solutions/intelligent-commerce)

It may turn out that consumers simply want to consume where they already are on ChatGPT or Amazon.

For more integrated actions, it may be sufficient that a user signs up for Stripe Agents or Visa Intelligent Commerce, connects their agents, and executes that way.

In either of those cases, it's unlikely that Laso Finance will be able create a better product and win. Those are significant risks.

## Alternative Outcome

Laso Finance believes that the Total Addressable Market (TAM) of agents will be defined by **agentic entrepreneurship**.

The TAM of agents is so large because of their capability to be *their own business center*. Generating their own revenue, their own profit. That is why the space is so important.

An important aspect of agents being able to execute on their goals is to be able to run without a human in the loop.

x402 provides agents permissionless crypto rails. Laso Finance provides permissionless fiat rails.

We believe that it is a significant competitive advantage that will compound for a long time before competitors move down market into prepaid.
